Selangor Photo Carnival 2011 in Klang
The bridge is one of the oldest bridges in this royal town and surrounding the area are the many heritage sites. Being a full day event which starts at 10.00 am and ends at 10.00 pm, there will be a huge line up of activities for all ages and walks of life here.
There were over 100 photography enthusiast who attended while many other non-photographers were seen around the carnival with their families.
Highlights were the Heritage Walk Photo Hunt and Fireworks which concluded the festival. The state officials officiated the carnival with speeches and immediately the photo hunt started.
A total of 140 participants took part in the hunt which took them through the many interesting parts of Klang’s rich cultural areas. A kids coloring contest, band performance, other games were held around the bridge area.
As long as you have a camera of any kind, you are invited to participate in the many events – and for free. For those into portrait and model shooting, there will be a ‘Model Shoot Contest’ while a Kiddy Photography Workshop is set up for the juniors.
You can also expect photography accessories and equipment to be displayed and also for sale at the many booths there.
Among some of the special features, there will be a Malaysia Book of Records attempt in the ‘Longest Photograph of the Klang Bridge’ where submissions will be accumulated and mounted up.
Games and colouring contest are also available for the children while for those who enjoy the local food, you can explore the many famous hawkers and restaurants in Klang.
Prizes include cameras from Nikon, Fuji, Sony and Olympus so one never knows as you may even walk away with one of them.

This was a successful photography event which has sparked many other photography events around Klang and Selangor. Perhaps, Tourism Selangor will organize another interesting Selangor Photo Carnival in Klang again.
