Matta Fair March 2011 at PWTC Kuala Lumpur
The Matta Fair March 2011 at PWTC Kuala Lumpur is back with even more affordable travel packages. Over 890 booths will participate in Malaysia’s Largest Travel Fair for the year this time.
As always, crowds of travellers will be seen here looking for the best deals on travel packages. The most prominent players in the travel industry will be participating, so you can expect some good deals on airline tickets and travel packages.
One of the highlights is to look out for the Sabah Tourism Booth at the fair, where you will be happy to know that there are several attractive packages to Sabah.
Expect to see a lot of Muslim Travel Packages from many agencies, while places like Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Paris, and Japan will be hot items to look out for.
Cross-border packages like Hat Yai and Singapore’s Universal Studio Packages will also be quite popular due to the savings some travel agents are receiving from their counterparts.
With AirAsia flying to New Zealand and to Paris soon, you will see many New Zealand Packages and Paris Packages, which will be much cheaper than last year, but with AirAsia flights included in this.
Update: Apparently, Firefly is offering some really cheap flights to Kuching.
Some even offer Muslim Packages to China; there are custom Muslim Packages to Europe, the USA, and even the Middle East.
Last year, I saw a few travel agents selling Muslim packages to Hanoi, Australia, and even Hong Kong. So this year, I wonder where is the popular destination for this special travel group.
Check out the offers and promotions that each travel company offers, as sometimes, on the last day, some companies may even throw in extra for your packages.
While most of the time, when you sit and discuss your plans with the travel agent, they may even offer you special offers to try and secure your travel package.
This is one of the many popular things travellers look for. Walking around, you will notice that some travel companies advertise Hong Kong for RM600 on a piece of A4 paper stuck to their booth.
You might think it is a deal, but it is only for the flight ticket. So, if you are hunting for cheap airline tickets, always ask them if it is a complete package or just an airline ticket.
Getting to Matta Fair 2011 at PWTC
- Most locals would self-drive there and park around the PWTC area.
- Here’s a tip if you don’t want to spend time looking for parking – Drive up to the Seri Pacific Hotel (old Pan Pacific Hotel) entrance and give your car to the valet parking, which costs about RM15 (US$4.40) the entire day. No hassles as you simply walk straight into the Matta Fair from the hotel entrance.
- Another option would be to come early and park in the PWTC
- Another place would be to park across from The Mall Shopping Center and walk over.
- Avoid parking along the road illegally, as you are bound to get summoned by the police.
- Again, I stress that to avoid the traffic jam, you must head there very early, before 11am.
- An Intrakota Bus stops just outside the Jukebox Shoe Shop opposite the Puduraya Bus Station, and this bus goes to Hentian Putra, opposite PWTC. It will cost approximately RM1.20 (US$0.35) one way.
- Visitors who travel to the Matta Fair 2011 from March 11 to 13 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) trains will receive a 25% discount on their ticket fare.
- They should inform the officers at the ticketing counter at the train station that they are going to KL Sentral for the Matta Fair before buying their tickets.
- Those who buy tickets at the KTMB booth for travel to any part of the country or Singapore would get a 25% discount regardless of the number of people travelling.
- The discounts are available from March 11 to 13th, 2011.
- STAR LRT stops at the PWTC Station and is a short walk to the Matta Fair.
- PUTRA LINE LRT stops at Masjid Jamek Station, and you change with STAR LRT.
