Basically, Malaysia Asia was founded by David hogan Jr back in 2007 as a travel blog, and since then, it has become one of the most trusted travel blogs and websites for Malaysia with my personal experience travelling around the country and world.

In 2021, I invited fellow birdwatcher and scuba diver Ashraf Zaini to join the Malaysia Asia team. While writing for Birdwatching Asia, he actively scuba dives and birdwatches, so it was the right time to include back-scuba diving in this travel site.

David Hogan Jr. is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the travel and tourism industry. He has built a career spanning over three decades, transitioning from a role as an assistant director for television commercials and documentaries to becoming a prominent travel writer, photographer, and videographer. Based in Malaysia, David has leveraged his deep knowledge of the region to create and manage Malaysia Asia, a blog dedicated to travel writing focused on Malaysia and Asia.

Daivd’s background in television production and his work with Tourism Malaysia provided him with valuable insights into the tourism sector, which he later applied to his travel writing career.
