Sunset at Uluwatu
This sunset at Uluwatu, Bali, is my picture for this week. I took this photo on my June 2011 trip to Bali, where I visited one of the most famous tourist sites. Uluwatu has been one of the top three places to visit when you are in Bali, and having been here for the first time, I never knew what to expect.
Sunset at Uluwatu
People and tour guides kept telling me that Uluwatu is well known for the Kecak Performance, the monkeys that steal items from tourists, and that there are many tourists here. Being myself, I made it a point to come even earlier to explore the place thoroughly.
Finally, during sunset hour, I headed to the main commercial area where another 200 tourists were seen taking photos. While everyone was busy at the main area capturing the sunset, I shifted my focus to the cliffs on the way up to the temple, where I found a perfect spot to capture this beautiful sunset.
To capture this sunset, I used a 105mm lens in aperture mode on my Nikon D60 DSLR camera. At first, the photos did not come out nicely, but after playing around with the settings, they finally turned out nicely.
Travel photography in Bali has always been one of my favourite subjects. I started visiting this island in 2008 and have never stopped coming back. Check out my Bali travel section if you would like to see and read more about the Island of the Gods.
