Sabah Sunset at Kuala Penyu Picture

This Sabah sunset at Kuala Penyu is my picture of the week, which is part of my ongoing travel photography series where I share random snapshots from the stunning places I’ve explored.

I took this particular photo during a trip to Kuala Penyu in 2010, when I stayed overnight at one of Sabah’s hidden gems—Tempurung Lodge, a charming seaside resort. Words can’t quite capture how serene and beautiful this place is, but if I had to sum it up in one word, it would be amazing.

Perched on a small hill with no other resorts or buildings, the boutique lodge offers total privacy and a peaceful escape. If you’re looking for something a little off the beaten path while exploring this part of Sabah, I highly recommend a stay here.

If you’re into travel photography, feel free to check out more of my work at the Malaysia Asia Facebook Page, which I regularly update with new photos and travel tips. This Malaysian state is renowned for its breathtaking sunsets, and Kuala Penyu is just one of the many perfect spots to witness them.

Conclusion

If you’re in Kota Kinabalu, the Waterfront area is one of the best places to catch the sunset. Just sit at one of the cafes or restaurants, relax, and watch the sun dip below the horizon. Check out my other worldwide sunset photography pictures I have taken over the years.

Like many others I’ve taken, this photo was captured with a Nikon D60 DSLR and an 18–200mm lens—a simple setup I often travel with. It proves that you don’t always need fancy gear to capture beautiful moments. Thanks for reading and viewing my Sabah sunset at Kuala Penyu picture.

Wow, that's such a beautiful shot. I've been to Kuala Penyu few years back, but never seen the sky like that.
