A Shopping Bliss at Rinku Premium Outlets Before Leaving Osaka

On my recent trip to Osaka, I made a quick stop at the Rinku Premium Outlets, just before heading to the airport—and I’m so glad I did! Located in the town of Rinku in Osaka Prefecture, this massive outlet mall is conveniently situated just one train stop before Kansai International Airport (KIX).

Rinku Premium Outlets is a shopper’s paradise, part of a network of 30 premium outlet malls across Japan. Over 150 top international brands are here, including Coach, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Kate Spade, and many more. Even better, you can enjoy year-round discounts ranging from 25% to 65% or even more during festive periods.

If you’re a tourist, don’t forget to stop by the information counter with your passport. They often have additional special promotions or coupons available just for foreign visitors.

What makes this outlet even more appealing is its location. Since it’s just one station before the airport, it’s an ideal stop for some last-minute retail therapy. I’d recommend arriving at the outlet at least five hours before your flight. This gives you ample time to shop for one to two hours, and still have time to head to the airport and check in comfortably.

And don’t worry—if you’re still in the mood to shop, Osaka International Airport also has a good range of stores for grabbing those final Japanese souvenirs.

If you’re planning to fly out of Osaka and love a good deal, make sure you plan a visit to Rinku Premium Outlets. It is the perfect way to wrap up your trip, with great bargains and maybe even a new suitcase to carry your finds home.

Conclusion

Please read my review of what to do in Osaka. I compiled a list of interesting things to do when visiting Japan’s second-largest city.

My trip to this factory outlet was arranged as I was on the inaugural AirAsia X’s first flight to Osaka, Japan, in early December 2011. Apart from visiting Universal Studios Japan, the Osaka Aquarium, and the Shinsaibashi Shopping area, the Rinku Premium Outlets are a must-visit place for anyone coming to Japan.
