Here is a Koh Samui temple photo during a road trip from Kuala Lumpur to this beautiful island on the east coast of Southern Thailand.

The temple is called the 1000 Hands Quan Yin or Zhao Mei Guan Im, and this beautiful place is located in the southwest part of Koh Samui Island.

The 30-year-old temple is also known as Wat Plai Laem which offers visitors a view into Chinese-Thai beliefs as well as some elaborate Buddhist-themed art and architecture.

The massive Guanyin Statue with 18 hands is known as a fertility goddess and many worshipers come here and pray for her help in bearing healthy children. Alternatively, Guanyin is believed by some to help protect sailors at sea back in the day.

It is open daily and visitors are urged to dress properly when visiting this temple. There are no entrance fees and additional temples in the area as well.

To get here, you need to take the main route 4169 up to the northeast region of Samui, then turn off on route 4171.

It is very close to the Big Buddha temple, about 3km directly north of Samui International Airport, 3km east of Bophut Beach and 7.5km away from Chaweng Beach.

The best option is to take a taxi or tuk-tuk and have them wait for you when you visit this temple in Koh Samui.

Conclusion

Driving to Koh Samui from Malaysia was quite easy and when I was there, this temple was one of the many stops which I made around the island.

There are quite a number of interesting attractions here which I will publish in the coming weeks, therefore, I hope you liked my Koh Samui temple photo.
