Legoland Water Park Opening 21st October 2013

The all new Legoland Water Park will be opening this 21st October 2013 at Legoland Malaysia. This is also the second installment for the theme park before opening the Legoland Hotel here in Nusajaya, Johor.

During a site visit to the water park in July 2013, I could not imagine how a water park could fit here but after actually going to the location, I finally saw how it blended in perfectly with the landscape here.

The Legoland Water Park is an interactive attraction and is located on the hilly area of the theme park which will house over 20 interesting water rides.

Among them is the ‘Joker Soaker’ which is touted to be the star attraction here. From the pictures below, you can see the progress of the water park with most of the pieces being delivered and simply waiting to be assembled.

One of the highlights at the water park is the “Build-A Raft River” where kids customize their own raft made of soft Lego bricks before floating down a lazy river.

Apart from several body slides and tube slides there is also a wave pool and a water play area designed especially for the younger kids and toddlers.

There are three small slides and interactive Duplo characters modeled after the actual pieces found in Lego sets: an alligator, polar bear and an elephant.

From the water park here in Johor, you have an excellent view of the main Legoland below while nearby is the the Legoland Hotel which is currently completed but undergoing interior renovations and fittings and is scheduled to open in early 2014.

This entire project will complete the massive theme park project in providing a one-stop center for families.

As the water park is located in Nusajaya, there are many other things to do in Johor for those spending the weekend or a few days here. You can actually spend one or two days at Legoland and move around the area for other attractions.

The water park is located just next to the main entrance of the main park and also the upcoming Legoland Hotel Malaysia. Update: All Legoland Malaysia attractions are now opened.

There is also access from inside the main theme park while for those wanting to go to the water park, you can enter from the main entrance.

The water park will also open from 9.00 am till 6.00 pm (tentatively) and there are combined park tickets available and also promotions on the Legoland Annual Pass for both parks which is Legoland Malaysia and Legoland Water Park which is opening this 21st October 2013.
