As some would already know that KL or Kuala Lumpur has been promoting the KL Food Trails for Food tourism in Malaysia and it is recommended that you follow a registered tour company or licensed guide when doing this kind of tours.

Recently, five popular food places in the city were selected as tour packages for tourists and the public to try out various local delicacies in conjunction with ‘KL Food Trails’, organized by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall with collaboration from the tourism unit, Visit KL and Time Out KL magazine. 
The KL food tour packages for five places are Brickfields, Chinatown of KL, Jalan Alor, Pudu and Kampung Baru based on the popularity of locals and more importantly, all five places have been looked after well to preserve the culture and food available there.

Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Phesal also quoted there were around 5,000 restaurant outlets in the capital and he hoped that more restaurants and food shop owners would get involved to make KL Food Trails a success. 

For the KL Food Trails project, the KL City Hall has also discussed with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture to have special rules to be followed by every restaurant owner to ensure the cleanliness of the premises, food and their employees.

To experience this, I was fortunate to follow them on one of their inaugural Food Tours in Kuala Lumpur and found their services to be top-notch and very professional.
