A new TV channel called GOASEAN TV will be on air this coming June 2015 which will be aired twenty-four hours a day.

It will also be on four-hour cycles of six loops, showcasing destinations and tourism products in different concepts and formats to suit a variety of interests, from tourism trivia, travel news and documentaries to travel reality shows, as well as incorporating social media.

From June 2015, GOASEAN TV will first be aired in Malaysia; by 2016, across the ASEAN region; and by 2017, to a global audience.

Malaysia will take the lead on behalf of ASEAN member countries to establish the GoASEAN TV Channel that is tasked to promote tourism packages for the 10-country ASEAN group.

The GoASEAN Travel Channel will start this April 2015 by airing travel shows on Malaysia and expand quickly to include travel packages for all the 10 countries.

They include Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

GOASEAN TV Launch at ATF 2015
Malaysia’s head of NTO, Ong Hong Peng said: “the broadcasts will be available via platforms such as free-to-air, direct-to-home satellite TV service, and pay-TV.
During the ATF 2015 meeting, the ministers also endorsed Malaysia’s proposal for ASEAN NTOs to work closely with industry players in the region to create more ASEAN tourism packages online for promotion within South-east Asia and globally via the ASEAN tourism website.
Ong said: “Both initiatives are in line with the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan to promote ASEAN as a single tourism destination.”
Conclusion

Update: The GoAsean website is no longer available, and I often wonder why things like these get abandoned after launching.

This will also be the first time that ASEAN will be involved with a cumulative campaign in promoting the many destinations in the 10 countries via the all-new GOASEAN TV program.
