New Zouk KL

The New Zouk KL at TREC is to open in the second quarter of 2015 after having spent 10 good years along Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur serving hundreds of thousands of party-goers and tourist to some of Kuala Lumpur’s most happening events and parties.

While the news was out that Zouk KL was to move to the new TREC KL in January 2015, there has been minor delays where the owners are now planning for the opening ~~somewhere in the second quarter of 2015~~. Update: End of 2015.

This means the former location at Jalan Ampang will fully relocate here to the busy end of Jalan Tun Razak towards the Kampung Pandan Roundabout.

Update Dec 2015: The New Zouk Kuala Lumpur is now open! Below is a photo of the club.

The current Zouk KL started operation in 2003 with a build-up of 32,000 sq ft and also at a cost of RM16 million.

This was hands down the main entertainment powerhouse of Kuala Lumpur for the last 10 years and now, the relocation will double the size of the new outlet to a whopping 60,000 sq ft with an investment of RM38 million.

This will go down in Malaysian history as the most expensive club ever built, and the new design will play on distinct straight-line edges defining its unprecedented aggressive facade that suits today’s demands in lifestyle and entertainment.

The structure of Zouk KL is a vision that embodies the innovative concept of a world-class 24-year-old brand that has become a household name for many clubbers.

The New Zouk KL comprises several venues including;

♦ VIP bar lounge
♦ Member’s lounge
♦ Café
♦ Rooftop deck

While there are no official names announced for each of the venues, we suspect that the current room names will be used again.

However, we will update the information once we get it. A bonus is the rooftop deck at Zouk KL which will have an amazing view of the Royal Selangor Golf Club.

Other specialty services that Zouk KL will offer include a dedicated VIP concierge service.

On a weekly average, the club attracts some 15,000 visitors which include many locals and tourist and as for status, Zouk Kuala Lumpur is also ranked No. 52 in the world by UK club magazine DJ Mag.

Recently in late 2014, Zouk won the Nightspot Platinum Award at the Kuala Lumpur Mayor’s Tourism Awards.

Having been branded as Malaysia’s premier nightspot, it is the only standalone nightspot that is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture under the National Key Economic Areas (NKEA).

While the majority of other bars and clubs in Kuala Lumpur have a closing time of 3.00 am, Zouk KL is the only nightspot in Malaysia that has a 5am operating license.

Younger generation tourists visiting Malaysia should know that this is ‘the’ place for partying and clubbing in Kuala Lumpur where strict practices have adhered at all times.

The image of Zouk KL has always been clean and positive and the overall intentions are to bring the nightlife entertainment scene to the next level where Kuala Lumpur will be on the world clubbing map alongside cities like Singapore, Hong Kong, Ibiza, New York, and London.

As for TREC KL, this new amazing lifestyle and entertainment hub will comprise 77 outlets with a massive total of 260,000 sq ft built on a 7-acre site equivalent to 6 football fields.

There are outdoor and indoor event areas that cater to all kinds of functions, concerts, launches or live gigs. For parking, there are over 1000 parking lots available with high security.

For the clubbers out there, you can also find some information on dance clubs in Kuala Lumpur. which are limited to popular places.
