Events in Sarawak for 2015 is a list compiled for anyone planning to visit the largest state in Malaysia this year.
The events and festivals in Sarawak range from all kinds where the most popular ones being the music festivals like the Borneo Jazz Festival 2015 taking place in May and also the Rainforest World Music Festival 2015 which takes place in August.
Other events in Sarawak are in many genres from adventure, cultural, film, international and domestic events. A number of them like the Kite Festival and the Tidal Bore Festival will see many foreign visitors attending them. Several running events are also available for runners and marathoners.

ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA 2015)
The ASEAN International Film Festival And Awards 2015 is a premier film festival, which made its debut in 2013. Held in the city of Kuching, Sarawak, the biennial film festival celebrates the best of films around the ASEAN region. Definitely a must-attend festival for any film lover.

Baleh-Kapit Raft Safari 2015
The unique Baleh-Kapit Raft Safari is a two-day rafting contest organized by the Tourism Task Group of Kapit. This is also the 20th Baleh–Kapit Raft Safari since the inaugural event in 1996 and held along the mighty Rejang River. A must-visit event for water sports lovers.

Tidal Bore Festival 2015 (Pesta Benak)
Pesta Benak or Tidal Bore Festival is one of Sarawak’s iconic events which is celebrated on a grand scale. This special event is centred in Sri Aman town with longboat paddling competitions, tidal bore surfing, water sports, food and trade fair, nightly entertainment and viewing of the famous tidal bore. Surfers, take note.

Mukah Kaul Festival 2015
The Kaul is a traditional festival celebrated by the Melanau community living along with the coastal areas in Sarawak. In the past, Kaul was held as a religious ceremony to appease the spirits of the sea, land, forest and farm making it the most important festival in the Melanau traditional calendar. If you love cultures and religion, this is one event to attend.

The Bornean Frog Race 2015
At the Bornean Frog Race, participants will explore one or more trails at the Serapi foothills within the Kubah National Park for a period of 2 hours, and returning with digital images of these amphibians. A very unique and interesting event for any wildlife or animal lover.

World Harvest Festival 2015
The main highlight of the World Harvest Festival is the theme play which utilises the lake, ethnic houses and trees as natural props found in the world-famous Sarawak Cultural Village. Each year the play takes on a different ethnic theme and for 2014, it was based on a traditional Bidayuh legend.

Pesta Babulang 2015
The highlight of the Pesta Babulang Festival is a buffalo race involving teams from Limbang, Sabah and Brunei trying to outrace each other, riding on bare buffalo back. Live Active Run 2015
Organized by The Spring Shopping Mall back in 2012, the Spring Live Active Run Half-Marathon injected a jolt of excitement into the outdoor recreation scene when it became the first large-scale competitive and community-run organized in Sarawak. There are five categories – 21km Half-Marathon, 10km Run, 10km Corporates Race, 5km Fun Run and a 2km Kids Dash, the Spring Live Active Run is a perfect platform for runners of all levels and ages.

Interbike Hash 2015
The Sarawak Inter Bike Hash 3 (IBH3) will be a 3-day event held from 10 to 12 July 2015. Programme activities commence on Friday afternoon and continue with a mass mountain bike ride on Saturday and end with a city ride on Sunday morning. A must-attend for any cycling enthusiast.

Borneo Cultural Festival 2015

Rainforest World Music Festival 2015 (RWMF’15)

Padawan Raft Safari 2015

Borneo International Kite Festival 2015
The Borneo International Kite Festival will be held in this seaside town of Bintulu and for the 11th time to date. The huge windy open space of the Old Bintulu Airport that faces the South China Sea provides ideal consistent flying conditions that kiters love. Sibu Base Jump 2015
The Sibu Base Jump has been organised since 2009 and has become a yearly event organised by Sibu Tourism Task Force Group with technical support by BASE Jumper from Australia and Malaysia. Sibu Base Jump 2015 is planned to be carried out just a week before KL Tower Jump.

Sarawak Regatta 2015
The significance of regattas in Sarawak dates back to 1872 during the James Brooke era where it started with the intention to stop racial wars among local tribes where headhunting was largely practised. James Brooke then instructed all tribes to instead challenge each other by having boat races to prove their power and strength and hence now, the Sarawak Regatta is one of the most popular events here.

Borneo Talent Awards 2015
The Borneo Talent Awards 2015 is a competition to identify the most talented performer from the various discipline of the show and it is open to both Malaysians and foreigners of all ages. Sibu Big Bike Week 2015
