Events and Festivals in Malaysia for July 2015
One of the highlights is that the cities of George Town and Melaka will hold celebrations to mark their 7th year anniversary as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
For something quirky, Putrajaya will host a werewolf-themed urban obstacle night race called BloodRunner.
Below are the festivals and events taking place in Malaysia for the month of July 2015.
The twin-city celebrations will bring visitors on the ground to historic sites to enjoy cultural performances, heritage appreciation and have an overall good time.
Han Chin Pet Soo, the Hakka tin miner’s club, was established in 1893 as a recreation club for tin miners to relax after a hard day’s work at the mines. Opium smoking and gambling were among the benefits of membership.
Today, this historic building has been restored to its former glory with many original exhibits dating back to more than 100 years ago.
Spend an afternoon here to learn about Malaya’s glorious tin mining past, and life during those times, as you view the many fascinating artifacts from a bygone era.

The 3-day festival celebrates the unique food, farming, forest and cultural heritage of the Bario Highlands – one of the last surviving traditionally farmed and forested highland watersheds in Sarawak and East Malaysia.
There will be traditional games and dances performed here and for those wanting a little bit of adventure, there are plenty of trekking trails around Bario.
Note to get here requires some skill as the only way here is via the 19-seater Twin Otter Turboprop Planes operated by MASwings from Miri. There are 5-6 scheduled flights daily during the week of the festival while accommodations are homestays here.
