KLIA Express ERL Train New Ticket Price
Most Malaysians and foreigners have enjoyed the RM35 one way KLIA Express fare for the last 14 years and come this 1st January 2016, the KLIA Express ERL Train will have a new ticket price of RM55.00 one way which is a huge RM20.00 increase from old KLIA express price of RM35.00 one way. With the new increase, frequent travelers would feel the pinch as an extra RM20.00 one way, could be spent on many other things like food and drinks.
The CEO of ERL has also mentioned that originally, the price was supposed to be revised to RM64 based on the terms of the concession agreement however, KLIA Express is still one of the worlds lowest airport rail transfers. In Touch N Go users are still entitled to the 10% discount for the promotion period and for purchasing the two-way ticket, passengers can save RM10 as an overall discount.

The new KLIA Express ticket pricing list for 2016 |
According to sources, the new KLIA Express ticket price increase has been approved by the government through the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) in accordance with Section 120 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010. For more information, see the official website – http://www.kliaekspres.com/2015/12/erl-revises-fares-14-years/
Alternatively, you can still take the KLIA airport bus transfers from KL Sentral or even One Utama Shopping Mall at Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya as the prices are around RM10-12 one way. The journey for the KLIA bus is around 60 minutes one way and bus frequencies are every 15 minutes from KL Sentral while it is hourly from Bandar Utama.
For the early part of the year, most travelers will feel the pinch on the KLIA Express ERL Train new Ticket Price but eventually as Malaysia increased all the transportation fees and so on, we will get used to it. Again, if you are traveling in a group of no more than four, it would be a smart decision to simply take a taxi to the airport which cost only around RM90 to RM130 either way, so the choice is up to you.
