The Kenyir Bird and Nature Quest 2016 will be held over two days with events that include lectures, workshops, and activities such as bird watching, tracking elephants, jungle trekking and cave visits.

This naturalist activity organised by the Malaysian Nature Society, Kuala Terengganu branch and Ping Anchorage MICE, will offer participants a deeper experience, raising awareness of Terengganu’s environmental heritage.

For Birdwatching in Terengganu, the state has a total of 290 species of birds where you can find 9 out of the 10 species of hornbills in Malaysia.

Lake Kenyir Resort is also one of the best places to do bird watching in Terengganu due to the location surrounded by lush tropical rainforest and lakes.

Conclusion

Bird Watching in Malaysia is now a popular growing hobby with many states around the country organising these kind of events.

There are bird races, bird talks and bird counts conducted by professionals and even invited foreign experts in this field. In the last three to five years, there have been many local and international birding events in Malaysia which has seen a huge growth in the number of birders locally.

There is even an international race which is the Borneo Bird Race that takes participants around three states of Borneo. But this event takes place occasionally, and not yearly.

This two day program is suitable for anyone wanting to know more about the flora and fauna of Terengganu in Malaysia and if you are a bird watcher, this is a great place to do birdwatching as the Kenyir Bird and Nature Quest 2016 is one of the highlights for this growing hobby in Malaysia.
