Malaysia Tourism Awards 2015
The prestigious Malaysia Tourism Awards 2015 is back and for the 19th instalment, this grand event for the tourism and travel industry will be held at the Putra World Trade Center or PWTC in Kuala Lumpur this 17th February 2016 and special guest of honor will be the Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak along with the Tourism Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz. Who will be this years big winners?
The Malaysia Tourism Awards was introduced in 1987 by the then Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism Malaysia (which is now known as Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia) and the main vision is to make the tourism industry a primary source of national revenue and a prime contributor to the socio-economic development of the nation. There is also the main mission which is to market Malaysia as a premier destination of excellence in this region.
A total of 14 categories and 50 sub categories have been selected together with one Ministers Special Award, which needs no nomination. All of these tourism awards will be given out to those who excel in this field of work for the past two years of 2014 and 2015.

This awards are held every two years and the last Malaysia Tourism Awards 2012/2013 was held on the 20th February 2014 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center in KLCC with the theme of Mystical Rainforest. A total of 48 awards were given out to various categories which was tediously judged by a panel of 59 judges.
For the record, Malaysia Asia was nominated and won the Best Tourism Article for Blog on Malaysia in the last awards, and this was a huge thing for me as I have been contributing to tourism and travel news online for Malaysia since 2008.
This years awards saw multiple entries being submitted as early as April 2014 and many are looking forward to the Malaysia Tourism Awards 2015 to see who the grand winners will be. To all entries, we at Malaysia Asia wish you the best and also to see a flourishing year in tourism for 2016.
