This cute Silver Leaf Monkey is my picture of the week. These unique primates, also known as Trachypithecus cristatus, are found mostly near coastal areas of Malaysia.
The pictures here were taken during my many trips to Sabah, Borneo. They are usually harmless but inquisitive animals, and at popular spots, they can be seen mingling with humans, hoping to get some food.

Below is a series of photos that I took at Labuk Bay in Sabah, Borneo. Labuk is actually known for the famous Proboscis Monkeys, which can be seen in large groups and from a special viewing platform.
There are specific viewing times, so please check with the tour operators. While here, you can see the common long-tail macaque (brown monkeys), Pied Hornbills, and Silver Leaf Monkeys.
Where to see Silver Leaf Monkeys? Those interested in seeing these beautiful grey-black primates can do so at several places around Malaysia. You need to engage a nature tour guide or a company that provides these wildlife tours.
If you visit Selangor in Peninsular Malaysia, you can also see these Silver Leaf Monkeys at Bukit Malawati. Otherwise, they can be found in many other states, especially at national parks by the coast.
The most popular place to see these primates is the Kinabatangan River in Sabah, where they move around freely throughout the day. I hope you enjoyed my Silver Leaf Monkey pictures, and I look forward to your feedback.
Conclusion
Silver Leaf Monkeys are magnificent primates to see, especially when they have a golden-coloured baby with them. They are usually found in groups at the abovementioned places and are also usually harmless.
For those who want to get a Silver Leaf Monkey picture, Bukit Malawati in Kuala Selangor is one of the best places near Kuala Lumpur. Remembe to go early, otherwise, they may move on after lunch.
