These bazaars in KL mainly sell clothes, jewelry, handmade items, home cooked desserts and other knick-knacks and sometimes, prices are very affordable.

A bazaar is usually found around the main shopping malls with proper booth structure and lay out, sometimes in an open area outdoors or sometimes inside them mall itself. They usually operate on weekends while some are from Fridays till Sundays.

Below is a list of the best bazaars and markets to visit around Kuala Lumpur, and in no order. 

Located in Kota Damansara in the new Sunway development is the Sunway Giza Weekend Bazaar where it happens every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon till 10.00 pm at night.

This lively market offers about 20 to 30 booths selling a range of interesting items like handmade Dream Catchers, unique jewelry, accessories, clothes, stationary and a lot of other cool things. The organizers are strict about the items being sold therefore it is well controlled, meaning you won’t be seeing cheap goods here.

Location is after The Curve, Ikea and Ikano Power Centre where you take the underpass towards the new Kota Damansara LRT Station on the Green Line No.9 (Sg. Buloh-Kajang LRT Line, which is to open somewhere in 2016).

2. Fuyoh Art Market at Publika Shopping Mall

Located in the Publika Shopping Mall, there are about 30 to 40 booths at any one time and held only on the last weekend of the month. To get here, it is a 10 to 15 minute drive from KL city and you can just take a taxi here as it is convenient.

3. Art For Grabs Market at Jaya One

You can find various jewelry and accessories, clothes, collectors items and unique products being sold here on the weekend. Sometimes, even new designers will be seen here promoting their brand and products.

Vendors sell all sorts of items except second hand or pre-loved items. Selection is usually interesting but many repeats of jewelry and clothing. It is also outdoors so when it rains, the vendors will close for a while.

Around here, there is IKEA, Tesco, IPC and Kidzania Malaysia. To get here, you can take the LRT train to Kelana Jaya Station and then take the free shuttle bus from IKANO Center or take a taxi to the Curve. 

One of the smaller weekend markets is this which sees about 20 vendors located in the open area of Jaya One Shopping Mall which is called Palm Square. The landmark is around Starbucks and Brussels.

It is still relatively new but selections are very basic catering to more ladies items like jewelry, accessories and so on. To get here, you need to take a taxi from KL city or take the LRT train to Asia Jaya LRT Station and then take a taxi there. Journey from KL is around 30 to 45 minutes.

Subang Parade Bazaar

The place lacks a crowd and needs more strict management in order to be successful. In other words, they need interesting products to lure the crowd in, otherwise, it will remain boring.

I Love Bazaar at eCurve

Held every second weekend of the month, the Urban Yard Bazaar at Setia Walk, Puchong caters to more locals who live around the area. Items sold here are mostly ladies accessories, cloths, jewelry, shows, bags and some art and craft.

To get here, you need to take a taxi from KL which can be quite costly. Otherwise, the new Puchong LRT Line should be open by mid 2016 and you can get here from Masjid Jamek Station taking the Brown Line No.4 and stopping at Pusat Bandar Puchong LRT Station. 

Another old market which has been around for more than 10 years is the Fiesta Nite Market in Mont Kiara. This bazaar cum market takes place every Thursdays in the main courtyard of Mont Kiara and offers visitors a selection of food and items.

Catering to the locals of Mont Kiara, we recommend coming here in the evenings to check out the food market where a variety of local and international stalls are available.

As for the general items, they are standard items like clothes, jewelry, accessories, bags, toys, books and even handmade soaps. Come around 4.00 pm to avoid the traffic and from KL city, it is best to take a taxi here. Landmark is the Mont Kiara McDonalds. 

One of the more exclusive bazaars and markets is the Seek and Keep Bazaar and Market in BSC, Kuala Lumpur. However, this artisan market only takes place a few times a year and if you are around during that time, head on over there.

The beauty about this bazaar is that it caters to children with live workshops and craft corners. Prices are also slightly on the higher end too but still affordable. To get here, you need to take a taxi from KL city which is around 10 to 15 minutes drive.

There are many other bazaars and markets found around Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, but many of them are not reliable or happen only during festive seasons.

Some of them are unpopular hence not many people attend them while many are new ones, especially at the new shopping malls which offer cheap rates and end up with cheap vendors selling all kinds of useless junk.
